Packing
Weather:
Ladakh is a high-altitude desert. There is a saying that it is one of the few places in the world where you can get frostbite and a sunburn simaltaneously. The sun is quite strong and although it is usually dry, be prepared for varied weather conditions. During the spring and summer, temperatures range from around 60 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and can drop to below freezing at night. It is also not uncommon to see
snow at this time of year.
Cultural Sensitivity:
Cultural sensitivity is an important consideration when packing. We recommend
covering your shoulders, knees and legs while traveling to Ladakh. There are really nice light trekking pants you can buy and women can travel in long skirts if you are comfortable with this.
